These days no wedding celebration is complete without fireworks. To mark the end of the evening a short duration spectacular display will make it a night to remember.
For almost 30 years Sandling Fireworks has provided displays for weddings and anniversaries. We are fully licensed and insured display operators with a full team of BPA trained firers. We give a high quality, reliable service that only an established and experienced company can offer.
HOW MUCH DOES
IT COST?
Because our displays are often for councils and corporate
events we cost our displays plus VAT (unlike our firework
packs which are all VAT inclusive). Each display is designed
individually to suit your needs and to take advantage of
any particular features such as a lake, landscaped garden etc.
Prices range from £600 + VAT depending on the location and
date, and up to, well, the sky's the limit! You might find
it easier to think in terms of cost per minute. A basic
display for a wedding should cost in the region of
£100 to £200 per minute so a 5-6 minute display would cost
£600 - £1200. For top end wedding displays budgets of
£5000 or more are not uncommon. The bigger the budget the
better the display becomes because fixed costs such as
transport, labour and insurance become proportionately
smaller.
WHAT DURATION?
We suggest that 5 minutes is about right for a
wedding reception and certainly no longer than 10 minutes.
The shorter the display the more spectacular it will be
because you are increasing your pounds per minute. This
means larger fireworks can be used. Some like to have a
shorter (and therefore more spectacular) display of 3
minutes. Firework lovers who are getting married might want
a 10 minute display as it will be the highlight of the evening for
the the bride and groom as well as their guests. Also
consider what the time of year you are having your wedding.
In winter your guests might not like to spend too long
outside so a shorter display may be preferable!
WHAT TO CHOOSE?
The easiest thing to do is to leave it all to us. We
have been firing displays for almost 30 years so you can be
assured we will choose the most suitable fireworks for you. If
you have any special requests such as a colour theme then we
can usually oblige. We can also supply lancework, sometimes
called fire writing. Lancework consists of a large quantity
of small firework flairs on a wooden frame from which we are
able to make messages or pictures. A champagne bottle with
the bride and groom's initials each side is quite a popular
item.
HOW DO I KNOW IF A
SITE IS SUITABLE FOR FIREWORKS?
Most existing venues will be able to tell you if they have
had fireworks before and show you where they are usually fired.
If this is the first time the venue has been used for
fireworks then we need to establish that it has sufficient
safety distance for your display. Usually we will come and
have a look at the site and this can be a good opportunity
to discuss the display with you.
WHO DO I NEED TO NOTIFY?
For wedding displays Sandling Fireworks will usually notify
the police and fire service of the event. This is a simple
courtesy so that they know when and where a display will be
taking place. If the display is on your own land it is
always a good idea to let local residents know of the event
so there are no surprises on the night. In particular farms,
stables and other nearby places that might have animals
should be told.
WHAT ABOUT THE
WEATHER?
We can fire in the most atrocious conditions and rain will
not usually be a problem for us. It is very rare indeed that
we are unable to fire a display.
CAN I HAVE A QUIET
DISPLAY?
Sometimes a display site may be in a sensitive area. It may
be sleepy village or there may be stables nearby. In these
cases we are able to fire a quiet display for you. It
will not be silent though. We will discuss with you the
level of noise that may be acceptable. Quiet fireworks
include cakes, roman candles and barrages that eject
coloured stars, comets and other quiet effects.
WHAT TIME CAN I
HAVE MY DISPLAY?
By law fireworks must not used after 11pm with certain
exceptions such as New Year's Eve. This is a sensible rule
and designed to prevent fireworks becoming a nuisance to
neighbours. Some venues may have their own rules regarding
this so you may need to check with them.
HOW TO BOOK
Once we have satisfied ourselves that the site is
suitable and a budget and duration has been agreed, we issue
you with a simple contract to sign. That's all there is too
it! You can concentrate on arranging the wedding and leave
the fireworks to us.
Wow, that just about sums up the firework display you put on for us. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. The fireworks were so amazing its hard to put into words. Everyone there couldn't believe how fantastic they were.
