GUY FAWKES DISPLAYS

An overview of our range of professionally fired displays for the November 5th season.

A firework display by Sandling Fireworks will make your event an unforgettable experience for you and your audience. Established almost 30 years Sandling Fireworks have fired well over 1,000 displays. We are fully licensed and insured display operators with a full team of BPA trained firers.  We give a high quality, reliable service that only an established and experienced company can offer.

With our state of the art wireless digital firing system, we can even fire  synchronized displays from several locations simultaneously! Ideal for large scale public displays.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Because our displays are often for councils and corporate events we cost our displays plus VAT (unlike our firework packs which are all VAT inclusive). Each display is designed individually and to take into account any special features of the site such. For November 5th displays and for the Fridays and Saturdays either side the minimum costs is £1,500. We may be able to fire lower budget shows during the week. The more you spend the bigger and better the display. For top end displays budgets of £5,000 to £10,000 are not uncommon. The more you spend the better the display becomes because fixed costs such as transport, labour and insurance become a smaller proportion of the budget - so the more fireworks per pound!

WHEN CAN FIREWORKS BE USED?
By law fireworks must not used after 11pm except for November 5th - 12 midnight, News Year's Eve, Diwali, Chinese New Year and New Years Eve, all 1a.m. For October/November shows, most of our clients have their displays starting between 7  and 8pm.

WHAT DURATION?
For Guy Fawkes displays your audience will be attending specifically to see a firework display so it should last 20 - 25minutes depending on budget. Certainly no less than 15 minutes and no longer than 30 minutes.  No matter how spectacular the fireworks people's appreciation will start to wane if the display is too long.

HOW MANY FIREWORKS DO I GET FOR MY MONEY?
Don't confuse quality with quantity!  For example, we could easily double the number of fireworks in one of our displays simply by using fireworks of half the value, but it wouldn't be such a good display. Leave it to the experts to create a display of maximum value and spectacle for any given budget. Each display is individually designed to take into account any special requirements you may have.

DO I NEED INSURANCE?
You do not need to take out insurance for the firework display. Sandling Fireworks has it's own £5,000,000 insurance that will cover any loss, damage or injury from the firework display. Our insurance does not cover other attractions that you might arrange yourself such as funfairs, bonfires, barbeques, bouncy castles etc. You should ensure the site itself has insurance in place to cover any incidents that do not involve fireworks.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A SITE IS SUITABLE FOR FIREWORKS?
If this is the first time the venue has been used for fireworks then we need to establish that it has sufficient safety distance for your display. Usually we will come and have a look at the site and this can be a good opportunity to discuss the display with you.

WHO DO I NEED TO NOTIFY?
You should notify the police and fire service of the event and explain you are using a professional company to fire the display. This is a simple courtesy so that they know when and where a display will be taking place.  You are the organiser of the event and you are contracting us, a professional company, to fire the display for you. It is always a good idea to let local residents know of the event so there are no surprises on the night. In particular farms, stables and other nearby places that might have animals should be told.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?
We can fire in the most atrocious conditions and rain will not usually be a problem for us. It is very rare indeed that we are unable to fire a display. Special circumstances might be that there is a very strong wind towards the audience and it is not possible to move the site around. Fog does not stop us firing but it might stop you seeing the fireworks! If you are organising a commercial event then weather might effect attendance. You might consider bad weather insurance.

CAN I HAVE A QUIET DISPLAY?
For Guy Fawkes and New Years Eve Events noise is not usually a problem because people are expecting there to be fireworks. However, sometimes a display site may be in a sensitive area or  may be stables nearby. We even fire a display at a zoo! In these cases we can fire a quiet display for you. It will not be silent though. We will discuss with you the level of noise that may be acceptable.  Quiet fireworks include cakes, roman candles and barrages that eject coloured stars, comets and quiet effects such as wriggling fish. If the site is suitable then we can include traditional wheels and setpieces that make for a very entertaining display.

The committee members would like to thank you and your colleagues for the spectacular firework display you set up for us again this year. The event was a great success and we hope to welcome you back next year.

Many thanks for another excellent display at our rugby club, we have nothing but positive feedback from spectators.
