Purple’s never quite had the fanbase that red and blue enjoy in this trade, which I’ve always thought was a shame, because done well it’s a lovely colour against a dark sky. This one does it well.
Thirteen tubes, fired together in a fan, a rich deep purple filling the sky before it shifts cleanly into fresh green. No messing about, no half-measures – it’s there and then it’s changed, and you get that little jolt of surprise every time even if you’ve seen it before. I rate this one a bit higher than I probably should for something so simple, but there you go.

Combine with the Blue to Red and Teal to Yellow versions and you’ve got a proper tri-colour finale moment for not a lot of money.
