Terms & Conditions

Sandling Fireworks – Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

Please read these terms before you order. Part A applies to every order. Part B applies if you are buying as a private individual (a consumer). Part C applies if you are buying for a business, club, charity, school, organisation or event company. If anything in Part C conflicts with Part A, Part C applies to business customers.

Part A – Terms for all customers

A1. About us

  1. Sandling Fireworks is a trading name of 1st Galaxy Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 03842899.
  2. Registered office: 213 Valley Road, Sherwood, Nottingham, NG5 3BG.
  3. Trading and warehouse address: The Old ICI Site, Off Station Road, Dunscroft, South Yorkshire, DN7 4DY.
  4. VAT number: GB737845983.
  5. Phone: 01452 855915. Email: office@sandlingfireworks.co.uk. You can also use our contact form at https://sandlingfireworks.co.uk/contact-us/.
  6. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean 1st Galaxy Group Ltd trading as Sandling Fireworks. “You” means the person or business placing the order.

A2. Who can buy, and fireworks law

  1. You must be 18 or over to buy fireworks from us. It is a criminal offence to supply Category F2 or F3 fireworks to anyone under 18, and for anyone under 18 to possess them in a public place.
  2. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the person receiving the delivery or collecting the order will be 18 or over.
  3. We, or our courier, may ask for photo ID on delivery or collection, such as a passport, photocard driving licence or PASS-accredited card. We will not hand fireworks to anyone who appears to be under 18 and cannot show valid ID. This is treated as a failed delivery under clause A5.
  4. We do not sell Category F4 (professional) fireworks.
  5. Fireworks are classed as explosives. We store them under an explosives licence and deliver them only by specialist couriers.

A3. How the contract is formed

  1. When you place an order, we send an email acknowledging it. This is not acceptance.
  2. The contract is formed when we send you an email confirming your order, or when we despatch the goods, whichever happens first. Payment is taken when you order, and confirmation normally follows once payment has been received.
  3. We may decline an order, for example if stock is unavailable, the price shown was clearly wrong, or we cannot verify age. If we do, we will refund you in full.
  4. Orders taken by phone are confirmed by email. Please check the confirmation and tell us straight away about any error.
  5. Terms in a business customer’s purchase order or other documents do not apply unless a director of 1st Galaxy Group Ltd has agreed to them in writing.

A4. Prices and payment

  1. All prices on our website include VAT at the current rate.
  2. Delivery charges are shown in your basket before you order. Delivery is a flat rate of £15.95 including VAT, unless your order qualifies for free delivery as shown on our Delivery page (https://sandlingfireworks.co.uk/delivery/).
  3. The minimum order value for delivery is £99. Orders below £99 are available by Click & Collect only.
  4. Payment must be made in full when you place your order, by one of the payment methods shown at checkout. We do not offer credit or payment on account.
  5. If a product is shown at an obviously wrong price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after we have accepted it.

A5. Delivery and collection

  1. You can choose a despatch date at checkout. We despatch on that date or the working day before. Please allow at least 3 working days for us to pick and pack your order.
  2. Delivery times run from despatch and depend on your postcode, as shown on our Delivery page.
  3. Deliveries are made on working days between 7am and 6pm and must be signed for by someone aged 18 or over. Weekend delivery is not normally available. Our couriers do not book a delivery time.
  4. Please plan around your event. We recommend choosing a despatch date at least 7 days before you need the fireworks.
  5. If delivery fails because nobody aged 18 or over is available to sign, or ID is not provided when asked, the goods are returned to us. We will contact you to arrange another delivery, which will be charged at the full delivery rate and not the discounted flat rate. As an illustration, the full rate is currently a £30.00 hazardous goods charge plus 40p per kg of the order’s gross weight, including VAT; for example, a 20 kg order would cost £38.00 to redeliver.
  6. Deliveries outside mainland Great Britain need special arrangements. Please contact us before ordering.
  7. Click & Collect orders must be collected by someone aged 18 or over who can show photo ID if asked.

A6. Availability and substitutions

  1. Products are subject to availability. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you.
  2. Where possible, we may offer a substitute of similar effect and at least equal value. For assortment and display packs, we may substitute individual items of similar effect, size and at least the same value.
  3. You may refuse a substitute and receive a full refund for that item. If you do not want substitutions, please tell us in the notes when you order.

A7. Risk and ownership

  1. The goods are our responsibility until they are delivered to you or collected.
  2. Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full and the goods have been delivered or collected.

A8. Safe and lawful use

  1. Fireworks are explosives. Always read and follow the instructions and safety distances printed on each product, and see our Firework Safety page (https://sandlingfireworks.co.uk/firework-safety/).
  2. By law, fireworks must not be set off between 11pm and 7am, except until midnight on 5 November and until 1am on New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year.
  3. Store fireworks in a cool, dry, secure place away from children and sources of ignition, and keep them in their packaging until use.
  4. You are responsible for using fireworks safely and lawfully, including any local rules or landowner permissions.

A9. Events outside our control

  1. We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier failure, severe weather, strikes or government action.
  2. If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we can. If a delay is likely to be significant, you may cancel and receive a full refund for any goods not yet delivered.
  3. Bad weather on the day of your event is not by itself a reason for a refund. Wet or windy conditions affecting how a firework performs do not by themselves make it faulty.

A10. Your personal information

  1. 1st Galaxy Group Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
  2. We collect your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number and order details. Card payments are processed by our payment providers, and we do not store your full card details.
  3. We use your information to process, deliver and support your order (to perform our contract with you), to verify age and keep the records the law requires for the supply of explosives and for tax (legal obligation), and to send you offers about similar products (legitimate interests).
  4. We share your details only as needed to fulfil your order, with our couriers, payment providers and email and IT service providers, or where the law requires us to. We never sell your information.
  5. We keep order records for as long as the law requires, normally 6 years for tax purposes.
  6. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in our emails or by emailing office@sandlingfireworks.co.uk.
  7. You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to marketing. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
  8. Full details are in our Privacy Policy (https://sandlingfireworks.co.uk/privacy-policy-2/).

A11. Complaints

  1. If you are unhappy with our products or service, please contact us by email at office@sandlingfireworks.co.uk, by phone on 01452 855915, or in writing to our trading address. Please give your order number, what went wrong, and what you would like us to do.
  2. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days.
  3. We aim to give you a full response within 14 days. If we need longer, for example to inspect goods or check with our courier, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer.
  4. Our final response will set out our decision and explain any further options available to you, including whether an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service is available.

A12. General

  1. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  2. We may update these terms. The terms on our website when you place your order apply to that order.
  3. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
  4. All content on this website is © 1st Galaxy Group Ltd. Trade marks belong to their respective owners.

Part B – Consumers (buying as a private individual)

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

B1. Your right to cancel

  1. You can cancel your order at any time before it is despatched and receive a full refund, including any delivery charge.
  2. After delivery, you can cancel within 14 days of the day you receive the goods, or the last item if your order arrives in parts.
  3. You do not need to give a reason.

B2. How to cancel

  1. Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel by email, phone or post using the details in clause A1. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to.
  2. Please do not open or use the products once you have decided to cancel.

B3. Returning goods after delivery

  1. Fireworks are explosives and cannot be posted. Once you cancel, we will arrange collection by a specialist courier.
  2. If you cancel after delivery for a reason other than a fault, you pay the cost of collection, which we deduct from your refund. The charge is £30.00 plus 40p per kg of the gross weight collected, including VAT. For example, a 20 kg carton costs £38.00 to collect.
  3. Please keep the goods safe, dry and in their original packaging until collected.
  4. We may reduce your refund if the goods have lost value because they were handled more than needed to inspect them, for example if packaging has been opened and they cannot be resold.

B4. Refunds

  1. If you cancel before despatch, we refund the full amount within 14 days of your cancellation.
  2. If you cancel after delivery, we refund the price of the goods and the standard £15.95 delivery charge, less the collection charge in clause B3, within 14 days of receiving the goods back.
  3. Refunds are made to your original payment method. We do not charge a fee for making a refund.

B5. When the right to cancel does not apply

  1. You cannot cancel goods made up to your own specification, such as a bespoke display selection you put together with us, or a standard pack you asked us to change. We will tell you before you order if this applies.

B6. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods

  1. The law requires goods to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
  2. If goods are faulty, you can reject them for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. After that, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, or in some cases a refund.
  3. Please check your delivery when it arrives and tell us about any damage or missing items as soon as you can, ideally within 48 hours. If cartons are visibly damaged, please note it with the driver. Prompt reporting helps us resolve things quickly but does not limit your legal rights.
  4. Please keep any faulty product and its packaging if it is safe to do so, as we may need to inspect it.
  5. We will collect faulty or incorrect goods at our cost and refund any delivery charge.
  6. A product is not faulty if it was not used in line with its instructions, or was damaged after delivery.

B7. Our responsibility to you

  1. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
  2. Our products are for domestic and private use, so we are not responsible for business losses.
  3. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Part C – Business customers

C1. Application

  1. Part C applies to any customer buying in the course of a business, including clubs, charities, schools, event companies and organisations.
  2. The consumer rights in Part B do not apply to business customers.

C2. Cancellation after confirmation and before despatch

  1. Once your order is confirmed, which is normally when payment has been received, it can only be cancelled with our agreement.
  2. If we agree to a cancellation after we have started picking, packing, allocating or storing your order, we will refund the amount paid less:
    1. a restocking charge of 20% of the value of the products; and
    2. our reasonable costs of picking, packing, moving the goods to and from storage, and unpacking and restocking them, including staff time and transport costs. We will itemise these costs on request.
  1. Goods custom assembled to your requirements cannot be cancelled. We may charge up to the full price of any items that cannot be returned to stock.

C3. Cancellation after despatch

  1. Orders cannot be cancelled after despatch without our agreement. If we agree, we will refund the amount paid less:
    1. a restocking charge of 20% of the value of the products;
    2. the original delivery charge; and
    3. the cost of collecting the goods, which is £30.00 plus 40p per kg of the gross weight collected, including VAT.
  1. Goods must be unopened, unused and in resaleable condition.

C4. Held orders and storage

  1. If you ask us to hold your order beyond its agreed despatch date for more than 30 days, we may charge reasonable storage costs, which we will agree with you in advance.
  2. If an order is not released for delivery or collected within 90 days of the agreed date, we may return the goods to stock and refund you, less the charges in clause C2.

C5. Delivery dates

  1. Delivery dates are estimates. We will do our best to meet them, but we are not liable for losses caused by courier delays.
  2. If an order is significantly late, you may cancel the undelivered goods for a full refund.

C6. Damage, shortages and faults

  1. You must inspect goods on delivery and note any visible damage on the courier’s delivery record before signing.
  2. Damage or shortages must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery. Faults must be reported in writing within 7 days of use or of your event, whichever is first.
  3. We must be given the chance to inspect goods before any claim is accepted, and before they are used, altered or disposed of.
  4. If goods are faulty, we will replace them or refund their price, at our choice.

C7. Limits on our liability

  1. Our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
  2. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, the costs of an event, or any indirect or consequential loss.
  3. Nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

C8. Your responsibilities

  1. You are responsible for planning and running your event safely and lawfully, including risk assessment, any permissions or licences, insurance, safe storage before use, and making sure only suitable adults handle and fire the products.
