Riakeo Poseidon – 48 Shot Garden Firework Battery (HF-48-2347S)
Riakeo Poseidon (HF-48-2347S) – Graham’s Take
I never did fireworks named after Greek gods back in the seventies – it was all “Jumping Jack” and “Roman Candle No. 4” in those days, very practical, not much romance to it. Things have moved on a bit, and this Poseidon’s a good example of how.
You get titanium-gold coconut tails first, breaking out into great golden willow canopies dusted with lemon, sky blue and purple. Lovely stuff. Then it switches it up – super red strobe tails come through, more golden willow, this time with red plum bursting through it. Fifty seconds of that. I timed it myself, more or less, sat in the garden with a cuppa, and it didn’t feel rushed at any point, which is more than I can say for most modern barrages that try to cram everything into fifteen seconds and call it a “show.”
The bits that matter
- 48 shots, 30mm calibre
- 50 seconds – a proper length of time
- Gold willow with lemon, sky blue, purple
- Red strobe finale with red plum
- F2, 1.4G – garden friendly
Good for a birthday, an anniversary, that sort of thing. Won’t frighten the cat too badly either, which always used to matter to me more than the manufacturers liked to admit.
Stand back 25 metres. I know it’s tempting to get closer for a better look – don’t.
