Good honest cake, this. Doesn’t try to be the biggest thing on the shelf, just does its job properly – red and blue pearls with white glitter, colour peony bursts, and then blue and yellow brocade crowns building up to the last seven shots going off all at once.
That simultaneous finish is the bit I like. A lot of fireworks at this price just fizzle out, but here you get a proper “and that’s your lot” moment that lands well even in a smaller garden.
