FIREWORKS FOR SCHOOLS

An overview of our professionally fired displays suitable for schools. These displays are very successful for October or November fund raising events and also from school proms and end of term events.

A firework display by Sandling Fireworks gives children and parents an opportunity to see fireworks in safe and organised environment . We will come and visit your site to ensure it is suitable for a firework display, and discus the details of the show with you.

Established almost 30 years Sandling Fireworks has fired well over 1,000 displays. We are fully licensed and insured display operators with a full team of BPA trained firers.  We give a high quality, reliable service that only an established and experienced company can offer.

School firework displays are great way to raise funds for the school or PTA as well as providing a way for children to enjoy fireworks safely. We can tailor the display to suit the age of your audience. For very young children  some schools like to have a fairly quiet display. We can include fountains, wheels and setpeices that youngsters will love.

Fireworks for schools

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Our display prices are plus VAT (unlike our firework packs which are all VAT inclusive) and the school will usually be able to claim this back. Each display is designed individually to suit your  needs. Prices range from £750+VAT depending on location and date, up to, well, the sky's the limit!  For key dates such as November 5th and the Fridays and Saturdays either side, the minimum budget is usually £1,500.   The more you spend the better the display becomes because fixed costs such as transport, labour and insurance become a smaller proportion of the budget - so the more fireworks per pound!

WHEN CAN FIREWORKS BE USED?
Most schools have their display between 7 and 8pm. By law fireworks must not used after 11pm except for November 5th - 12 midnight, News Year's Eve, Diwali, Chinese New Year and New Years Eve, all 1a.m.

WHAT DURATION?
Your audience will be attending the event specifically to see the fireworks so they will expect a reasonably long display. This rather depends on the budget available but we would suggest a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 25 minutes. The shorter the display the more spectacular it will be because you are increasing your pounds per minute.

DO I NEED INSURANCE?
You do not need to take out insurance for the firework display. Sandling Fireworks has it's own £5,000,000 insurance that will cover any loss, damage or injury from the firework display. Our insurance does not cover other attractions that you might arrange yourself such as funfairs, bonfires, barbeques, bouncy castles etc. You should ensure the site itself has insurance in place to cover any incidents that do not involve fireworks. Most schools will already have this covered.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A SITE IS SUITABLE FOR FIREWORKS?
We will come and have a look at the site to make sure it is suitable and this can be a good opportunity to discuss the display with you.

WHO DO I NEED TO NOTIFY?
You should notify the police and fire service of the event and explain you are using a professional operator to fire the display. This is a simple courtesy so that they know when and where a display will be taking place.  It is always a good idea to let local residents know of the event so there are no surprises on the night. In particular farms, stables and other nearby places that might have animals should be told.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?
We can fire in the most atrocious conditions and rain will not usually be a problem for us. It is very rare indeed that we are unable to fire a display.

CAN I HAVE A QUIET DISPLAY?
Sometimes a display site may be in a sensitive area. It may be sleepy village or there may be stables nearby. It may be you have very young children attending. In these case we can fire a quiet display for you. It will not be silent though. We will discuss with you the level of noise that may be acceptable. Quiet fireworks include cakes, roman candles and barrages that eject coloured stars, comets and quiet effects such as wriggling fish. If the site is suitable then we can include traditional wheels and setpieces that make for a very entertaining display. We would be pleased to discuss noise levels with you.

A quick thank you for the fireworks you supplied for our school display. The quality was simply amazing and all the fireworks fired successfully. The consensus was that the display was the best the audience had ever seen!
